Fraxinus americana 'Bash Bish Falls'

During his visit to Bash Bish Falls State Park in Massachusetts (USA) in 1989, Philippe de Spoelberch collected seeds of Fraxinus americana. The three best seedlings were planted out together to be evaluated. One plant immediately stood out because of its early, buttercup-yellow to buff orange autumn colouring. Being a beacon of light year after year at the beginning of October, it definitely deserved to be registered and propagated. The name 'Bash Bish Falls', after its area of origin, was a logical choice. Its golden colouration marks the beginning of the autumn season every year.
