Magnolia 'Miss Honeybee' x Magnolia 'Gold Crown'

A cross made by Dr. August Kehr (USA in 1992), cultivated and selected by Philippe de Spoelberch at the Arboretum. A tree with a fastigiate shape and flowers appearing just before or together with the leaves. The flower buds have a long cylindrical shape and a strikingly green color. The tepals are rather heavy and long and tend to hang down in a chaotic way, which some people see as a disadvantage.
