! Due to the enormous amount of rain these past few weeks, appropriate footwear (rain boots) are necessary for a walk in the Arboretum !
Arboretum Wespelaar is OPEN on Wednesdays and Sundays from 10am to 5pm (you can exit the Arboretum until 6pm through the parking), until November 13th, 2016, included. Groups are also welcome on other days on request (with guide). For more practical informations, please go to "Contact and visits".
If you don’t want to miss the flowering Cornus collection, now is the time to visit us. They are wonderful this year! In plot 148, the Japanese Dogwood Cornus kousa 'Speciosa' is stealing the show: the 4 big white bracts, surrounding the tiny flowers, are rather slender and hardly touch each other. On the border of the Verlat Wood in plot 164, Cornus hongkongensis is overloaded with pompous erect flowers. Here, the bracts are wide and round. First, they are white and later they colour pink. The new young leaves of this evergreen Cornus have a special purplish red colour.
